Heather’s Update For 2013

Heather’s Update For 2013

I can’t believe 2012 is almost over! I’ve had such an amazing year, and a lot of that is to do with the energy I get from the stories and kind words all of you share with me 🙂

I also can’t believe that my youtube channel just hit 15,000 subscribers! That’s amazing, and I’m so grateful to each and every one of you for your support.

For me, 2012 has been a year of building relationships – with all of you through my weekly videos, with some of you that I’ve been working with more closely for coaching, and with other vegan and health professionals through my Better Health Summit and some conferences (like Vegetarian Summerfest).

I also put on 3 sessions of live online cooking classes earlier in the year that I subsequently released as an online cooking course that you can join any time and go through at your pace.

It’s also been a year of having fun, and I’ve tried to bring more fun to my videos and articles (like my top 10 list of why I love eating plants) because I think that’s where my unique ability lies. What do you think?

I always want to share good nutrition and cooking information with you, but I want to make sure it’s positive and fun because I truly believe that you need fun in your life – otherwise being healthy is pointless.

Speaking of fun – by far the most viewed of my videos in 2012 was my homemade chocolate recipe. Is that a sign guys? Do you need more chocolate in your life? 😉

We have lots of fun stuff planned for 2013, that I’m so excited to start sharing with you!

New Website, Logo And Music

Did you notice the new look of the site??

Phil’s been working really hard over the last couple of weeks to make it look amazing, and also to make sure that it works smoothly on mobile phones and tablets.

And thanks to his friend Matt Pearn for the awesome new logo!

Phil’s also going to record a new musical intro for my videos, something upbeat and fun. I think he should have it ready by my next video post 🙂

New Projects

I have a lot of projects I’ll be working on this coming year to help you get on track, learn new things and stay motivated.

The first project is almost ready, and I’m so excited to share that with you this week!

(Update: It’s now available here!)

Travel

An exciting start to our year is a trip coming up – we’re heading to Peru for 3 months! I’m so excited to remind myself of how to speak Spanish, experience Peruvian culture and natural beauty, and eat my weight in fruit and quinoa every day 🙂

Phil and I always feel a bit weird about traveling, because we’re hyper-conscious about carbon emissions. That’s one reason why we’re going for 3 months – to maximize the trip.

Incidentally, while it may sound expensive to go to Peru for 3 months, it’s not. Our living costs will actually be lower. And we’ll keep working as usual while we’re there. Our goal is to be able to enjoy these kinds of things as we go through life rather than waiting until we ‘retire’.

What do you want to see from me in 2013? Let me know below, I love to hear what you like!
