Recipes

All of my recipes are created to be quick, healthy, delicious and vegan (meaning they use no animal foods). They are meat-free, fish-free, dairy-free, and egg-free.

Most are also gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free, or can easily be made so with some simple swaps. They are free of refined sugars, and most don't use any added sweeteners so many are suitable for diabetics.

I also sometimes share recipes from other people, and I am always conscious of choosing a recipe that is as healthy and vegan as I would make myself.

You can make your own plant-based milks at home so easily! This one is a combination of sunflower and hemp seeds for a boost of zinc, selenium, and omega-3.

There are so many choices out there in stores for non-dairy milks, but sometimes it's nice to know you can make your own at home in minutes!

Sunflower seeds are one of the foods that I eat every day, because it's difficult to get enough selenium, which is important for your immune system, as well as healthy hair, skin, and nails.

This recipe comes from Jill's fantastic book Nutrition CHAMPS, which includes tons of amazing recipes from some very talented vegan chefs--including me!

Jill's smoothie-making notes:

"I make this daily. It can be made with kale, collards or your favorite green although it’s not especially tasty to my husband with anything bitter like arugula. I soak the nuts overnight, drain and store in the refrigerator for the week. I also rehydrate the chia weekly by combining 3 tablespoons chia seed with 1 cup water and mixing well."
