Who I Am

HOLISTIC NUTRITIONIST

I’m a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, trained through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, but I don’t work in a clinic. I share my recipes, nutrition advice, and motivation through videos every week.

ENVIRONMENTALIST

I was drawn to veganism when I learned about the environmental impacts of industrial animal food production.

A person who follows a vegan diet produces the equivalent of 50% less carbon dioxide, uses 1/11th oil, 1/13th water, and 1/18th land compared to a meat-lover for their food. And that’s just the start…

VEGAN

The more I learn about the cruelty and abuse animals are born into and subjected to just for the sake of hamburgers or chicken fingers, the more I learn about the humans who suffer because of the immense demand for meat in developed countries, the more I hear of food poisoning and mercury contamination…

Knowing all that, the more I care about spreading info on how to be healthy as a vegan – so that people can sustain this life choice for the rest of their lives. The stories of people going vegan, and then eating meat “for their health” make me ever more committed to showing how to get all the nutrients your body needs to be healthy from plants.

FOOD LOVER

I learned how to make healthy food taste amazing because, like you, I don’t want to eat food that tastes like cardboard. I took a chef training course to learn intuitive plant-based cooking through the School of Natural Cookery. I use that training to show you the secrets behind how and why I create dishes and meals that are so healthy–-and so delicious!

OPTIMIST

Why do I do this work? Because if I can help you shift towards eating more plants, eating more whole foods, then I’m expanding the difference I can make for this planet on a bigger scale than just myself.

Being just one person can feel hopeless sometimes, in the face of so much change that needs to happen for us and our ecosystem to survive. So if I can inspire change beyond my one person, that’s what keeps me going. Your presence, as another caring and compassionate being, is what keeps me from feeling helpless.

Hey, I’m Heather!

I’m a Certified Holistic Nutritionist helping new vegans (and veg-curious) or aspiring health enthusiasts get balanced nutrition and truly enjoy their food – so that they stick with it for the long term.

I can help inspire and motivate you to take control of your own health and energy levels through conscious choices about what you eat.

But I’m not going to tell you what to do. You have to make your own choices. There are so many people who have so many “rules” about food that they wind up unbalanced and unhappy.

My philosophy of healthy food and healthy living is simple: Eat and do the things that make you balanced and happy.

I eat lots of mangoes, chickpeas, squash, and chocolate.
I love kale, but I don’t have a shrine to it.
I love maple syrup, but I don’t need to use a lot of it.

After shifting to a healthy vegan lifestyle, I had more energy, I lost some extra weight without trying, and I didn’t have chronic gas or digestion issues. I had no idea that this was how I was supposed to feel!

I didn’t realize how bad I felt until I felt better.

I believe you have to step fully onto the path of healthy eating find the energy and health to thrive. That includes what you eat, what you don’t eat, what you do during the day, and most importantly the attitude you bring to the table.

But I don’t believe you have to do everything at once, and I don’t think you have to try for perfection. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients who are living proof that a gradual approach can work wonders.

If you’re ready to go vegan, but not sure how to do it, I’d love to show you how. We just need to get started.

vegan

The single most powerful choice we can make for our planet, for the animals, and for our own health.

tasty

It needs to taste amazing if you’re going to actually eat it. We can make “health food” so good, you’ll get addicted to it.

balanced

No stressing about “perfection” – cause if you’re not happy, there’s no point being healthy. Balance for your plate and your sanity.
