Live Hangout With Allyson Kramer – Gluten Free Vegan Cooking
Heather Nicholds, C.H.N.

I’m super excited to be doing a live google+ hangout with my friend and super-duper cookbook author Allyson Kramer!

It’ll be at 2pm Eastern on Thursday June 13 (that’s tomorrow). I hope you’ll be able to join us! The recording will be available after the live hangout though, since I know lots of you will be at work at that time.

All you need to do is come back to this page (or my youtube channel) at 2pm Eastern and the video will be streaming live right here! Fun, right? I’m excited 🙂

I’ll be checking your comments during the hangout in case you have questions you want me to ask Allyson. You can also feel free to post any questions now and I’ll be sure to ask her for you 🙂

Allyson has a gorgeous new cookbook out right now, called Great Gluten Free Vegan Eats From Around The World. It’s an amazing collection of international recipes, showing the flavors and flair of every continent – done vegan and gluten-free.

You should also check out all the other stops on her blog book tour – there are recipes and interviews on many fantastic websites.

One to look out for is a recipe video that Christy, The Blissful Chef, made when I was visiting her in Austin! It was really yummy, salad rolls with peanut sauce and Christy showed a variation using collard greens instead of rice paper rolls – yum!!!

Allyson’s first cookbook, Great Gluten Free Vegan Eats, is an amazing collection of recipes with gorgeous photography so you should check that one out, too. I posted a review and a drenched pad thai salad recipe from that book. I loved sooo many recipes in there! I can’t wait to experiment with her new ones when I get back home.

Pancake Recipes:

Basic Gluten-Free Flour Mix Ratio:

  • 3 parts dry flour: buckwheat, millet, quinoa, rice
  • 2 parts starch or nut meal: potato starch, cornstarch, almond meal
  • 1 part sticky flour: tapioca flour, sweet white rice

And here are two good examples from others:

I hope you enjoyed my chat with Allyson about gluten-free vegan cooking! Be sure to check out her site and her books – she is an amazing gluten-free baker and has tons of amazing recipes.

One of my all-time favorite desserts (or breakfasts…) is her chocolate squash baked custard that I filmed a long time ago. It’s so simple and wholesome, yet comes out tasting rich and decadent – yum…
