Fruity Green Smoothie Recipe

Some green smoothies can be difficult to enjoy but this one is packed with flavorful fruits making it seem like a real treat.

When I come across affordable organic strawberries and bananas I throw them in the freezer as soon as I get them, and then they’re ready to go for a creamy, thick, super delicious smoothie.

Throw a few sprouts in there, and some protein powder if you like, and you take it from healthy to ridiculously healthy.

Fruity Green Smoothie

Prep time:
Makes 1 smoothie

  • 1 banana, frozen
  • 4 large strawberries, frozen
  • 1 cup alfalfa sprouts
  • 1 Tbsp effective microorganisms (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp hemp (or other vegan) protein powder (optional)


  1. Put the banana and strawberries in a blender with just enough water to get them going, and puree until they’re really smooth.
  2. Add the sprouts, along with any protein powder or superfoods you like, and blend again. Be sure to push the sprouts down into the fruit so that they blend into the smoothie.
