With the holidays quickly approaching, there is one thing that’s guaranteed… there will be an abundance of sugar around!

It can be really hard to make it through the holidays with your healthy intentions intact when there are so many temptations around…

So here are 5 ways you can avoid sugar this year:

1: Have a Smoothie or Snack Before Parties

The parties are a big source of temptation, with sugary cocktails and desserts… Have a smoothie or a snack before you head out so you’re less tempted and can more easily avoid sugar.

2: Have Proper Meals

Having a good breakfast and lunch can help you keep strong in the face of sugary office treats that have a tendency to wander in this time of year… Eating a good dinner helps minimize the temptation for desserts.

3: Have Herbal Tea

Find a really nice, flavorful herbal tea that you enjoy for that late night craving. Fruity, chocolatey, they even make mocha flavored tea now!

4: Swap the PSL

‘Tis the season of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Peppermint Mochas… they are delicious, yes, and they can be made with non-dairy milk – but they are full of sugar. Reduce that by getting a regular latte with unsweetened non-dairy milk and add cinnamon for the spice flavor! Or make your own at home with almond or cashew milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla stevia.
