When Fun Things Start Feeling Like Obligations…
Heather Nicholds, C.H.N.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get in a funk where even things I enjoy start feeling like obligations. Just another thing on my ‘to-do’ list.

I have two strategies to try to get over it. One is to remember why I wanted to do something in the first place.

For instance, I like running in the morning because it gives me energy for the day and helps me clear my head, plus I like the fresh air and seeing the morning sky.

But then sometimes, it’s just rainy and cold in the morning and I don’t feel like getting out of bed to go run.

My other strategy is that sometimes I just need a break. Then when I come back to it, I have more motivation and enthusiasm.

You can’t always do that, since some things we have to do in life. But for the things that we choose to do, but feel like we should, sometimes it’s helpful to take a little break.
