Chocolate Fondue for Date Night

Chocolate Fondue for Date Night
Heather Nicholds, C.H.N.

Chocolate fondue is a great way to end your meal on date night! It’s light but delicious, and involves very little time in the kitchen because there are better ways to spend your evening 🙂

Chocolate fondue is one of my favorite desserts because I pair it with all kinds of yummy fruit. Strawberries are my favorite for dipping, but mango is a pretty close second.

The traditional option for making chocolate fondue is to just melt some dark chocolate. You can stir in a couple of tablespoons of almond/rice milk to thin it out and make it a bit glossy if you like.

If you don’t want to use store-bought dark chocolate, you can avoid the refined ingredients by making my homemade chocolate, and leave it runny.

Then – for those of you who are like me and want a super healthy option, you can try the banana-based chocolate dip listed here.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 2 tsp carob or cocoa powder (or a mix)
  • 2 Tbsp water or almond/rice milk
  • 1 Tbsp almond butter (optional)
  • 1-2 dates (optional)

Dipping Ideas

Directions

  1. Put the ingredients in a blender (small ones are better for small amounts like this) and puree until it’s smooth. The almond butter will make it richer with its fatty goodness, and the dates will pump up the sweetness for those of you with a serious sweet tooth.
