Three Healthy Sweet Snack Ideas

Three Healthy Sweet Snack Ideas

Healthy sweet snacks are the kind of thing you can enjoy as a mid-afternoon energy boost or a guilt-free dessert after enjoying other healthy vegan recipes for dinner.

I definitely have a sweet tooth, and sometimes I just need a little something sweet after lunch or dinner to tell my brain that it’s satisfied. I don’t like anything too heavy usually though, because it’ll stick with me when I go to bed.

Makes as many servings as you want

So these healthy sweet snacks are perfect for satisfying my sweet tooth without weighing me down. Plus, I can make them super healthy by adding super-nutritious foods like ground flax or even some alfalfa sprouts 🙂

Ingredients

Orange Slices With Cinnamon

  • 1 orange, peeled and sliced
  • Pinch cinnamon

Lay the orange slices out on a plate and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Simple Blueberry Jam

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 Tbsp ground flax or chia seeds(optional)

Puree or mash the blueberries a bit. You can eat them as is, or make them thicker to use like a jam. You can either cook them on the stove for a little while (don’t use a lid, so that some of the water evaporates) or stir in a bit of ground flax to thicken.

Chocolate Pudding

  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 cup non-dairy milk or water
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder (or carob)

Put everything in a blender and puree until smooth. You can also mash the banana with a fork, and mix in the cocoa, but it won’t get as smooth as blending.

Oatmeal Cookies

Gingerbread Cookies

Apple Crisp
