I’m talking with Frederic Patenaude about the benefits of raw food diet, how and why to use it as a cleansing diet for weight loss and the biggest mistakes people make in trying to follow a raw food diet.

  • The benefits of a raw food diet come just as much from what you eat (mostly raw fruits and vegetables – easiest to digest, nutrient-dense, low calorie density) an what you avoid eating (foods that aren’t healthy like potato chips, ice cream, etc).
  • Try eating raw food for one week to get started, or if you can’t do that try replacing one meal at a time, like having green smoothies for breakfast. If you can’t even do that, just focus on including more fresh fruit and vegetables in your diet, and be sure foods are eaten whole.
  • Avoid oils, and keep the amount of fat in proper ratio, to get the real benefits of raw food diet. Eat small servings of whole foods that have fat (nuts, seeds, avocados).
